Description

The term is used by Mi pham while describing his editorial policies regarding the standardization of old orthographies found in the old manuscripts containing Rong zom pa's works that served as the master copies for the xylographic edition of Rong zom pa's collected works. He uses the verb in a unusual manner, in the sense of "omiting" rather than "abbreviating" referring to the omission of the archaic 'a and da dag suffixes, stating: yig rnying ’a mtha’ da drag sogs ma bsdus pa zhig ’dug pa … ("There was [an old exemplar of this work with] old orthographies such as the suffixes ’a and da drag left unabridged…").
